I have not been active on this blog for a long time. Looking back, I now understand that I needed to take a break so I could better learn the Scriptures — in their original context. Now that I have started to see how the Scriptures are meant to be understood, it is time to get back to work. But first, there are a few things I want to share with you about me.
I am no one special — and I mean that. I am not a prophet. I claim no special dispensation or anointing from the Lord. I have not received any formal education on the Scriptures, nor have I attended any seminary schools. All I am is a believer who sincerely seeks to understand the Lord and His ways, and who has committed the great heresy of actually trying to read the Scriptures in the context in which they were written and meant to be understood. I will confess that, looking back, I can see that the Lord has guided me every step of the way, but that is the only claim of any sort of authority I have to offer: that I know I was lead by the Lord.
Now, because I have tried to learn the culture and the Hebrew and Greek languages, as well as the way those languages are used in the Scriptures, I have found that I now have a very different understanding of the Scriptures than I held before I started to earnestly study them. When I started, I was a ‘Christian.’ I cannot say that today. I still believe in Yahweh, and I believe that Yeshua is His unique Son, who was crucified, died and rose on the third day and is now seated at the Right Hand of the Father. I believe Yeshua will come again, and that He will judge the living and the dead, and that His kingdom will have no end. However, I no longer believe much of the Christian orthodoxy — because I know it to be a heresy! Today, I consider myself a disciple of Christ and a member of the congregation of Yahweh, also known as, ‘The Way.’
In the coming weeks and months, I am going to do my best to share and explain what I found that caused me to change my beliefs. I will present the applicable Scriptures to support these changes in my beliefs. I will not ask that anyone accept my understanding. However, I will urge whoever reads my posts to follow along with me, study the passages I share and the background information I offer in support of my interpretation and then take the matter to the Lord in earnest, sincere and persistent prayer. I am content to leave the Holy Spirit to handle the rest, assured that I am not responsible to do anything more than what I just described.
With that, I will start to work on my first in a series of posts that — if you desired to use them as such — will constitute some very good ‘sermon’ materials for anyone wishing to share my new-found understandings with others. Should that be you, by all means, feel free to use anything on this blog in whatever way you deem appropriate. All I ask is that you do so in an earnest and sincere attempt to lead others to Yahweh, the One, True, Living Elohim.
NOTE: I have left all older posts in place so that others can still access them. Perhaps they will serve to show the differences in my old, ‘Christian’ understandings and my newer, more ‘Hebrew’ understanding.
